The event celebrates its 12th anniversary this year, with the 2013 edition returning to Boschendal Wine Estate for the 11th time.
From its humble beginnings with 700 entrants, the MTB Challenge has since grown from strength to strength, and is now considered to be one of the biggest mountain bike events of its kind in South Africa.
The MTB Challenge expanded to a two-day event in 2010 and this format continues to be a success. A third distance will be added to the more hardcore Sunday event in 2011.
