General info
The 55km route layout changes dramatically this year with riders tackling the steep slopes of the Simonsberg first before hitting the ‘flats’ of Boschendal Wine Estate
Detailed description
The first section is the same as the 35km and features lots of strenuous climbing. Riders are rewarded with spectacular views of the Dwarsrivier valley before some sweet singletrack takes them on the descent back to the farmstead.
The climbing is slightly more moderate this year following the construction of additional connecting routes between vineyards. That said, there are at least 3 tough ascents, with the infamous rocky ascent after the Lookout Waterpoint, forcing most riders to walk.
After Simonsberg loop, riders cross the R310 and make their way towards the township of Lanquedoc to join the traditional 26km route. This section is fast and furious until Bethlehem Farm where tough, sharp climb waits.
A nice, fast descent takes riders to the back fynbos area and the old Malan’s Quarries. Here some more changes are in store, with rides on BOTH the big dam walls are included this year. The scenery is stunning!
At this point riders will realise that the ride is almost over as you head back to Boschendal for the final fast 3km and the finish.
Do not underestimate this 55km route!. This distance has given many riders a good hiding over the years! It is usually hot on race day and things heat up quickly, so be sure to carry enough liquids and the necessary spares.

General info
The 35km is designed to give those riders not quite ready for the 55km a tougher option than the 26km. Beware: It is much tougher than you think!
Detailed description
After starting out flat, fast and furious, things quickly turn ugly as riders head into what forms the first loop of the 55km race.
In fact, the first 32km of the ride is identical to the 55km start so riders can get a good opportunity to scout whether they are candidates for the 55km race next year!
In terms of difficulty this ride is right up there - testing climbing , descending and singletrack skills. Be prepared for anything, including a river crossing or two!

General info
The 26km is a typical mountain bike route with about 3.5km singletrack, one moderate climb and a few nice descents. We are keeping the route similar to last year. The winning time will be around 01H10. Overall, the route can be described as flat and fast, with a nice mix of singletrack, good dirt roads and jeep tracks. Riders will ride through orchards, vineyards, fynbos and shaded riverine areas.
Detailed description
The ride starts out flat and fast until the first extended singletrack maze (about 1,5km) roughly 7km from the start. The first riders through this narrow section will have a definite advantage, as passing is impossible!
Riders then enter the southernmost Boschendal vineyards, facing a moderate, rocky climb and equally rocky descent as they wind their way back in a northerly direction.
The second singletrack section takes riders towards the Malan's Quarry. Here the 30km turns for Boschendal with a sandy section of 300m (some called it quicksand!) before the river crossing and final stretch to the finish.
13km

General info
The route is flat and follows shady lanes for most parts.
Detailed description
The ride starts out flat and fast. The road is wide and passing is easy.
After about 6km we turn into the orchards and the route makes a wide arc back for home on the Lanquedoc village road. A jeep track follows that will bring you to the village. The village is on a gradual slope so enjoy the freewheel through town.
After the town, the 13km have their very own personal river crossing (although the Dwarsrivier can be better described as a trickle...).
On the manor house side of the crossing you'll face your only real incline on the route a slight rise that even 5 year-olds conquered last year.
