uci Did you know that the Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tour has such prestige and class that the event has been singled out as one of the top events in the world? It is one of only eight cycling events in the world – and only one of two outside of Europe – to form part of the UCI Golden Bike Series.

Being labelled a Golden Bike event means that the UCI has placed their stamp of approval on the event, which is recognised for its superior quality, efficient organisational skills and its contribution to tourism and sport. In order to keep this celebrated title, organisers must adhere to strict regulations, which include the protocol surrounding foreign participants.

The aim of this series is to encourage cyclists from around the world get a taste of cycling culture outside of their own countries. So, when you participate in Cycle Tour this year, you have good reason to be proud.
